TEDxHyderabad Women 2015

“The woman I was yesterday, introduced me to the woman I am today; which makes me very excited about meeting the woman I will become tomorrow”

May 29th,2015 turned out to be quite a remarkable day for the 100 carefully curated attendees attending TEDxHyderabad Women 2015 , filled with entertaining conversations, interesting thoughts and a resonating positive vibe at the Microsoft India Development Center, Gachibowli.

Over snacks and introductions the attendees settled in for what was going to be a day of fun, brain whacking talks and inspiring ideas.

The theme of TEDWomen 2015 was “Momentum” which had talks being live streamed from Monterey,California to the delight of our attendees.
Few of the talks relished by the attendees were:
How I turned a deadly plant into a thriving business by Achenyo Idachaba
When jewelry gets smart by Christina Mercando.
Forget the pecking order at work by Margaret Heffernan among many others.

Our special invitees three prominent women of the city shared what the theme momentum meant to them and how it related to their life’s journeys. Hema Balakrishnan – A social entrepreneur, Rubina Mazhar – who runs an NGO SAFA that empowers marginalized women and Mridula Anand – An established Bharatnatyam dancer, IP researcher and a masters in molecular biology from Stanford talked about changing times and changing perspectives.

Here is TEDxHyderabad Women licensee Ekta Verma introducing the special invitees to share their stories.

Our Special invitee Mridula beguiled the audience with a short performance showing how the theme resonated in her own life.

What followed was a lot of networking and other TED talks being streamed live from California.

The attendees were taken by surprise when the flashmob dancers came in and got everyone up on their feet.

The event ended on a high note with everyone on their feet and a teaser of the Flagship TEDxHyderabad 2015 being released.
